Social Media and Content Officer

About the role

The Social Media and Content Officer will lead the development and execution of social media strategies that amplify Girls Not Brides’ mission, engage audiences, and support organisational goals. This fixed‑term role reports to the Communications Manager and works closely with the digital communications team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement social media plans, calendars and content (copy, graphics, video) aligned with brand and audience priorities.
• Monitor, analyse and report on social media performance, using insights to refine strategies and improve engagement.
• Produce high‑quality multimedia assets – graphics, videos, photography – that support campaigns, publications and influencing moments.
• Collaborate with communications colleagues to integrate social media into key campaigns, breaking news responses and cross‑functional projects.
• Maintain a network of external creative suppliers and ensure visual consistency across all outputs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in digital or social media communications within NGOs, international organisations or social enterprises.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging multimedia content and adapt it for different platforms and audiences.
• Experience using audience insight, analytics and performance data to guide content planning.

Required skills

• Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.)
• Canva and CapCut for design and video editing
• Strong graphic design and visual storytelling abilities
• Proficiency with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram) and scheduling/monitoring tools
