Sonographer (Locum)

About the role

Penda Health is hiring a locum sonographer based in Nairobi (Westlands). The role provides ultrasound imaging services to patients across several Penda Medical Centers, following established practice parameters and standards of care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide imaging services to patients in line with practice parameters and standards of care.
• Process, verify and maintain patient information accurately.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, ensuring accurate identification and readiness.
• Produce timely and accurate results following the Ultrasound SOPs and standards.
• Review all test results for accuracy and consistency, correlating them with patients' conditions when necessary.
• Maintain records and filing systems for ultrasound information, equipment and test results in compliance with regulations.
• Order and maintain department supplies and implement stock control procedures.
• Conduct weekly and routine maintenance of the ultrasound equipment.
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies at all times.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Branch Manager and scan at various Penda Medical Centers as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography or Medical Imaging Sciences.
• Valid license to practice from the relevant regulatory or professional body, if applicable.
• At least 3 years of work experience.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and professional standards.
• Flexibility to work across different medical centers.

• Computer use skills and experience.
• Ultrasound imaging and diagnostic radiography.
