Strategic Advocacy, Research & Communications Manager

About the role

Lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategic advocacy, research and communications agenda to influence anti‑trafficking policy and raise public awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organisation’s advocacy strategy and annual plan, identifying policy and legislative priorities related to human trafficking.
• Monitor national, regional and international anti‑trafficking policy developments and build relationships with government, parliament, county officials, civil society and development partners.
• Ensure advocacy is grounded in credible evidence and survivor expertise, facilitating safe participation of survivors and integrating their input into policy recommendations.
• Lead the organisation’s communications strategy to strengthen its public profile and institutional positioning.
• Produce thought‑leadership content such as opinion pieces, policy commentary, research summaries and support senior leadership with speeches and briefing notes.
• Design and implement public awareness campaigns, developing concepts, key messages, audiences and coordinating materials across digital and print channels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, International Relations, Development Studies, Law, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic communications, advocacy, policy or research, with at least 3 years in a management or senior technical role.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing advocacy strategies and conducting research and policy analysis.
• Strong understanding of human trafficking, human rights, gender and migration issues.
• Proven ability to engage government officials, policymakers, civil society, media and other stakeholders.
