About the role

The Supervisory HR Specialist (GS-0201-15) leads the Talent Management & Workforce Services branch, overseeing enterprise‑wide human capital programs that span recruitment, classification, performance management, and workforce services such as benefits and retirement advisory. This senior position provides strategic guidance to senior leadership and ensures compliance with merit‑system principles.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate division‑wide HR programs covering the full employee lifecycle.
• Maintain audit readiness and support internal and external review processes.
• Provide big‑picture directional leadership and advise on regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with high‑level stakeholders to align HR initiatives with mission requirements.
• Design, execute, and continuously improve programs that enhance recruitment, retention, and workforce performance.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen or national with successful security/background investigation.
• Current permanent DOJ employee (competitive status) or CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
• Meets time‑in‑grade requirements and, if male born on/after 12/31/1959, registered with Selective Service.
• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS‑14 level leading enterprise‑wide human capital management programs.

Required skills

• Interpretation and application of federal civilian HR laws, regulations, policies, and merit‑system principles.
• Senior technical authority for position classification and management across GS, SES, and Senior Level/Scientific positions.
