Support Services Manager (6-month secondment)

About the role

The Support Services Manager will be seconded for six months to Kiptapkei Environmental CBO (KTK) to establish, strengthen and directly manage finance, human resources, administration and compliance functions. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on support to ensure robust financial controls, donor compliance and effective performance management while building local capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for financial management, including policy implementation, internal controls and accountability mechanisms.
• Review and monitor financial transactions for accuracy, completeness and compliance with donor and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit timely financial reports and supporting documentation to Save the Children and other stakeholders.
• Oversee budget monitoring, cash‑flow management, bank reconciliations and financial planning; prepare KTK’s budgets.
• Lead audit and review preparation, ensuring implementation of recommendations and corrective actions.
• Identify and mitigate financial, operational and compliance risks.
• Supervise the Project Accountant and act as the primary focal point for financial accountability and support‑services strengthening.
• Coordinate with KTK’s banks, statutory bodies, suppliers, the KTK operations team and Save the Children finance, awards, risk and compliance teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance, HR or administration within the non‑profit sector.
• Demonstrated ability to provide both strategic oversight and hands‑on support.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, internal controls and audit processes.
• Experience in capacity building, mentoring and coaching local staff.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
