Swimming Instructor for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Swimming Instructor to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves operating, maintaining, and delivering swimming instruction for a large pool while ensuring safety and compliance with Navy guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the 82‑ft by 63‑ft by 12‑ft swimming pool in accordance with NAVMED and other Navy instructions.
• Plan and conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels.
• Monitor swimmers, enforce safety protocols, and provide lifesaving interventions, including CPR/AED.
• Inspect pool equipment, address maintenance issues, and ensure water quality through regular testing.
• Assist in coordinating pool events such as competitions or training exercises.

Required profile

• Certification as a Swimming Instructor (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA) or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in swimming instruction or lifeguard services.
• Valid passport with minimum one‑year validity and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain required certifications (CPR, AED, First Aid, HAZMAT, etc.).
