Synchrolift Electrical Control Operator

About the role

The Synchrolift Electrical Control Operator will operate, monitor, and maintain the electrical control systems of a Synchrolift used for vessel dry‑docking on Diego Garcia. This position supports a critical U.S. Navy program, ensuring safe and efficient handling of large maritime assets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Synchrolift electrical control systems during docking and undocking operations.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on motor control center (MCC) equipment and related electrical components.
• Complete specialized training from the Synchrolift manufacturer and maintain certification.
• Collaborate with Journeymen Electricians to meet industry standards for all maintenance tasks.
• Conduct quality inspections and respond to electrical emergencies or failures.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and operational protocols.

Required profile

• Strong electrical background with experience in complex electrical systems.
• Knowledge of motor control center (MCC) operations and electrical standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid passport with at least one year remaining.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and work in an austere OCONUS environment.
