Tax & Accounting Specialist

About the role

The Tax & Accounting Specialist will own the company’s tax compliance, handling corporate income tax (CIT), VAT, PAYE and withholding tax (WHT) filings and payments. The role also supports the finance team with SAP accounting, invoice review and banking tasks, acting as the primary liaison with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and external tax advisers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file CIT, VAT, PAYE and other tax returns, ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
• Perform regular reconciliations across SAP, KRA iTax, eTIMS and tax filings, and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate directly with KRA and external advisers on routine matters and information requests.
• Support tax audits and regulatory reviews with schedules, reconciliations and documentation.
• Assist with SAP accounting, invoice review, document management and routine banking tasks.
• Provide urgent tax and finance support during month‑end closing, annual audits and tax audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
• Fully qualified Kenya CPA or ACCA (strongly preferred).
• 2‑3 years of tax/accounting experience with independent filing and compliance.
• 1‑2 years of SAP accounting experience and solid knowledge of daily postings.
