Teacher – Home Science

About the role

The Aga Khan High School in Nairobi is seeking a dedicated Home Science teacher to deliver a balanced, differentiated learning experience aligned with the national curriculum and the school’s values. The successful candidate will support student progress across all ability levels and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Home Science lessons in line with the school’s vision and curriculum policies.
• Develop and adapt schemes of work and assessment tools to meet diverse learner needs.
• Monitor and evaluate student performance throughout the academic year.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create teaching resources and share best practices.
• Provide additional support to students who are struggling or falling behind.
• Participate in supervisory duties, parent meetings, and staff meetings as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
• Minimum of three years’ teaching experience, preferably in Home Science.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Required skills

• Strong classroom management and instructional techniques.
• Ability to design differentiated learning activities.
• Effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
