Technical Expert – Adolescent Health & Nutrition (ALIGN)

About the role

The ALIGN initiative seeks a Technical Expert to support the scaling of community‑driven adolescent health and nutrition innovations across up to 12 African countries. This 14‑month consultancy will be delivered in a hybrid/online mode, reporting to the ALIGN Project Manager at The Youth Café.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Technical Support Packages, including baseline capacity assessments and tailored technical assistance for CSOs and YLOs.
• Provide mentorship in programme design, grant management, and policy dialogue facilitation.
• Establish and manage youth engagement mechanisms such as youth councils and social listening channels.
• Lead the Cross‑Country Community of Practice, fostering peer learning, stakeholder convenings, and knowledge exchange.
• Document and disseminate lessons learned on scaling innovations and integrating them into national health systems.

Required profile

• Candidates from Kenya, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to target countries.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid/online environment.
