Technical Reference Librarian (USAF) – Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Technical Reference Librarian to support a unique USAF program on Diego Garcia. The role serves as the Air Force Technical Order Distribution Office, managing technical documentation for multiple mission areas.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, organize, and maintain technical manuals, reference materials, digital resources, and classified/unclassified documentation.
• Provide research assistance and reference support to maintenance, engineering, and operational personnel.
• Maintain accurate cataloging, indexing, and inventory systems in line with Air Force and Amentum standards.
• Ensure all technical documents are current, properly stored, and compliant with revision control and distribution requirements.
• Track, issue, and control technical publications and controlled documents.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience with the Air Force Technical Orders (T.O.) System.
• 1–3 years of experience in library services, technical documentation, records management, or administrative support.
• High school diploma or equivalent; library science or information management training preferred.
• Valid passport (minimum one year beyond hire date) and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Ability to meet medical, security, and deployment requirements for a remote overseas location.
