About the role
The Technical Sector Officer – Community Mobilisation (AIM) will support the Technical Coordinator in planning and delivering community‑based empowerment, gender equality, SRHR and SGBV interventions across Kisii County. The role combines field coordination, capacity building and quality assurance for advocacy and case‑management activities.
Key responsibilities
- Support AIM field teams during inception activities, including community mobilisation meetings, transect walks and youth development committee formation.
- Train regional staff and mentors on GESI, GBV, disability inclusion, SRHR and advocacy tools.
- Lead SBCC dialogue sessions with local, religious and cultural leaders and guide them in developing actionable community plans.
- Identify and adapt safe, gender‑segregated club spaces with accessibility features for marginalized groups.
- Coordinate with government, INGOs, CSOs and service providers to map SRHR and SGBV services and facilitate partnership meetings.
- Mentor youth advocates, oversee advocacy action plans and organise community hand‑over meetings to secure commitments.
- Contribute to monitoring frameworks, report on GESI indicators and document best‑practice case studies.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of experience in gender equality, social inclusion, SGBV or community mobilisation.
- Degree in International Development, Gender, Sociology, Anthropology or related Social Sciences.
- Experience providing technical assistance, developing training modules and facilitating capacity‑building sessions.
- Background in integrated programmes for adolescent girls and young women is an advantage.
Required skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office, data entry systems such as BInsight).
- Presentation skills for training and stakeholder workshops.
- Report writing and documentation of most‑significant‑change stories.
