Trade Finance Consultant – Remote, Commission Based

About the role

We are seeking a Trade Finance Consultant to join Africa Trade Finance Company on a remote, commission‑based basis. The consultant will act as a broker for international trade finance instruments, helping clients secure the funding they need without traditional cash margins.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their trade finance requirements.
• Advise and structure bank instruments such as Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) and Bank Guarantees.
• Lead performance goal setting, conduct reviews and provide feedback to meet targets.
• Assess client needs and design appropriate financial solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
• Identify new business opportunities, network with industry stakeholders and represent the company at trade finance events.
• Evaluate and manage risks associated with transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Monitor market trends, prepare strategic plans and report insights to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in trade finance, banking or a related financial services field.
• Strong understanding of trade finance products (LCs, SBLCs, BGs) and relevant regulations.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑assessment abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to build and retain client relationships.
• Leadership qualities with experience setting and achieving performance targets.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.
• Risk management and regulatory compliance awareness.
