Trainer - Interior Design

About the role

The Kenya College of Interior Design is seeking a full‑time Trainer to deliver interior design courses to its students in Nairobi. The successful candidate will combine academic knowledge with practical industry experience to prepare graduates for the design market.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver lecture and workshop sessions covering interior design theory and practice.
• Guide students in the use of industry‑standard software such as Archicad, SketchUp, Premiere Pro and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Assess student projects, provide constructive feedback and grade assignments in line with college standards.
• Stay current with emerging design trends and technologies to keep the curriculum relevant.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture or a related field.
• Teaching qualification preferred (DTTE/PGDE).
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience or at least 3 years of professional interior‑design experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Archicad.
• Proficiency with SketchUp.
• Proficiency with Premiere Pro.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
