Tutorial Fellow - Homescience/Physical Education

About the role

Zetech University in Nairobi is looking for a Tutorial Fellow in Homescience/Physical Education. The position combines teaching, student mentoring and research, working in line with the University's overall goals.

Key responsibilities

• Teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
• Design, develop, plan and deliver programmes of study, including new courses at various levels.
• Deliver high-quality lectures and practicals, and regularly review and update course content and materials.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and research activities.
• Carry out research, write research grant proposals, seek and take part in consultancies, and present research papers at national and international conferences.
• Disseminate research outputs and provide mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Registration for a PhD or equivalent doctorial degree in the relevant field, with satisfactory progress towards completion.
• Masters degree in Home Science (Clothing & Textiles) from an accredited university.
• Bachelor's degree in Home Science (Clothing & Textiles) from an accredited university.
• At least three years of relevant post-qualification work experience.
• Demonstrated university-level teaching and research experience.
• Registration with, or eligibility for recognition by, the relevant professional body where applicable.
