About the role
The Underwriter will support the Underwriting Manager in the Eldoret branch, providing operational assistance and helping evaluate and accept risk according to established guidelines. This entry‑level position offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Key responsibilities
- Attend to customers and intermediaries’ inquiries.
- Reconcile client accounts and follow up on policy renewals.
- Process new business policy documents, issue endorsements, motor and marine certificates, and yellow cards.
- Assist in preparing loss ratio reports and reviewing account performance.
- Provide required documents to the claims department within prescribed turnaround times.
- Maintain retention of existing accounts and adhere to debt‑management guidelines.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Commerce (Insurance Option) or related business degree from a reputable university.
- At least one year of experience in a busy underwriting department.
- Progress in an Insurance Professional Qualification.
