Venture Finance Officer (Accounting)

About the role

Green.Earth is looking for a Venture Finance Officer to ensure that every financial transaction supporting its environmental restoration projects is recorded accurately, protected, and reported on time. You will act as the central point for incoming funds, payment approvals, and monthly financial reporting for the Kenya operation.

Key responsibilities

• Record and safeguard all incoming funds on the day they are received.
• Review and approve payment requests against approved budgets, ensuring complete invoices and supporting documentation.
• Oversee the Income & Receipts, Disbursements & Payments, and Records, Assets & Financial Reports functions.
• Maintain audit‑ready financial records with zero missing invoices or unreconciled transactions.
• Compile and submit monthly financial reports to the Country Director and Holding Finance.
• Identify and resolve missing documentation or discrepancies before month‑end close.
• Escalate payment requests above approved thresholds or any signs of financial irregularities.
• Respond to financial queries from division heads, auditors, and Holding Finance.

Required profile

• A degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and a dependable work ethic.
• Ability to understand the purpose behind each receipt and reconciliation.
