Videographer / Video Editor / Motion Graphics

About the role

Pulse Africa is looking for a videographer, video editor and motion graphics specialist in Nairobi to conceptualize and execute commercial video projects. The role covers planning, organizing and running pre-production, production and post-production, with a strong creative and storytelling approach.

Key responsibilities

• Edit commercial and in-house video content with a strong creative and storytelling approach.
• Design and execute motion graphics and visual effects for branded and in-house content.
• Assist in producing Pulse's original and live video formats for Kenya and edit the original videos.
• Ensure all video outputs meet Pulse's high creative, technical and brand standards.
• Ideate video content solutions, strategies and creative concepts focused on audience engagement and monetisation, and develop data-driven video strategy recommendations.
• Work with producers, editors, designers and commercial teams, and support production processes such as lighting, editing, colour correction, sound design and motion graphics.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of pre-production, production and post-production planning and execution.
• Proven skills in commercial videography and camera operation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of on-screen directing and working with talent, and of broadcasting rules and regulations.
• A collaborative, creative and solutions-oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced skills in motion graphics and creative video editing.
• Ability to visualize concepts and turn them into compelling video stories.
• Knowledge of field video production techniques and standards.
• Understanding of digital-first video formats and platform-specific content.
