WHE / MHE Operator – Logistics Support on Diego Garcia

About the role

The WHE / MHE Operator will join Amentum’s logistics team supporting a U.S. Navy program on the remote island of Diego Garcia. The role involves operating a range of wheeled and material‑handling equipment to move, stage, load and unload cargo in accordance with Navy safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, loaders and other material‑handling vehicles to transport supplies and cargo.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑operation equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
• Maintain situational awareness in active work areas and coordinate movements with supervisors and team members.
• Assist with cargo documentation, keep equipment clean, and support daily logistics operations in a mission‑driven environment.
• Adhere to Amentum’s safety and quality policies, completing required training and participating in emergency response activities.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience operating wheeled or material‑handling equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to lift, bend and operate equipment for extended periods.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Capability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
