About the role
The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Internship offers a unique opportunity to support UN Women’s mission of gender equality by contributing to economic analysis and program implementation in Kenya. Interns will work closely with senior staff to gain hands‑on experience in gender‑focused economic research and policy support.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in conducting risk analysis and risk management assessments for WEE projects.
- Support data collection, literature reviews, and preparation of briefing notes on gender economics.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals, monitoring reports, and communication materials.
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s, master’s or related postgraduate programme in feminist/gender economics or a related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of another UN language is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
