WooCommerce Developer

About the role

Sauti Contact Center is looking for an experienced WooCommerce Developer to join its team in Nairobi. The ideal candidate has strong web development skills and the ability to configure WooCommerce. The role covers designing, coding and maintaining e-commerce websites built on WooCommerce, from layout to function.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain WooCommerce-based e-commerce websites
• Customize and extend WooCommerce functionality to meet project requirements
• Create custom WordPress themes and integrate them with WooCommerce
• Integrate and configure third-party plugins and payment gateways
• Manage product catalogues and optimize product search and filtering
• Optimize websites for speed and performance, and implement security best practices
• Test websites thoroughly and collaborate with QA teams
• Work with clients to understand their requirements and communicate project timelines
• Create and maintain technical documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Proven experience as a WooCommerce web developer with a strong portfolio
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• WordPress and WooCommerce theme development
• Familiarity with third-party WooCommerce plugins and extensions
• Optional: React, Angular or Vue.js; Git; SEO knowledge for e-commerce; performance optimization tools
