Works Package Manager – Construction (K-12 School Project)

About the role

The Aga Khan Education Service, Kenya is seeking a Works Package Manager to lead the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire (MEPF) package for the Aga Khan International School construction project in Nairobi. The role covers the full project lifecycle from design through hand‑over and the one‑year defect liability period.

Key responsibilities

• Define MEPF scope, coordinate design, and produce cost estimates.
• Manage tendering, pre‑qualification, bid analysis and contractor selection.
• Review and validate contractors’ Bills of Quantities, progress reports, QA documents and variation claims.
• Conduct daily site visits to verify equipment performance, safety compliance and operational readiness.
• Oversee resource planning, labour management, supplier schedules and subcontractor performance.
• Lead snagging, commissioning, validation and final room readiness activities.
• Submit and resolve defects during the one‑year liability period and hand over equipment to the facilities team.
• Track GHG emissions in line with AKDN’s net‑zero commitment and integrate emerging MEPF technologies.
• Prepare management reports, monitor schedule and safety metrics, and obtain approvals for payment processing.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or MEP Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of MEPF design or construction experience, with at least 4 years in package management on construction projects, preferably educational facilities.
• Proven experience in tendering, design coordination and contractor management.
• Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory and quality standards.
