Zero-Dose Implementation Monitoring Consultant (Remote)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to lead Implementation Monitoring (IM) for zero‑dose and under‑immunized populations in high‑priority countries. The role focuses on tracking progress, identifying bottlenecks, and supporting data‑driven decision‑making to improve equitable immunization coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operationalise quarterly IM systems using core and context‑specific indicators.
• Collect, analyse, and interpret health‑system and process data at sub‑national levels.
• Provide timely feedback to national and global teams to inform course corrections.
• Document lessons learned and contribute to scaling up IM approaches under Gavi 6.0.
• Coordinate with country partners, UNICEF offices, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality and relevance.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, health systems, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in immunization programmes, health‑system monitoring, or similar consultancy work.
• Demonstrated experience working in low‑resource or humanitarian settings.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

Required skills

• Implementation monitoring methodologies for immunization.
• Data collection and analysis using health‑information systems.
• Familiarity with Gavi frameworks, Thrive platform, and sub‑national health data.
