Account Assistant

About the role

Employd Staffing Solutions Ltd, a human capital consultancy in Nairobi offering recruitment, labour outsourcing, payroll management and employee training, is hiring an Account Assistant. The role covers accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping and support for payroll and audits.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Enter financial data accurately into accounting software and keep organized physical and digital records, including ledgers, journals and expense reports.
• Reconcile bank, credit card and supplier statements to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Help prepare financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets and reports for management review.
• Support payroll processing, including verifying employee data, processing expenses and keeping confidential payroll records.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits in line with company policies and accounting standards.

Required profile

• Professional Accounting Certification, CPA Part 2 (Section 4).
• At least 1 year of previous experience in a similar or related finance function.
• Well versed in bookkeeping.
• High data entry accuracy and strong numerical aptitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
• Advanced Excel and Word.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an added advantage.
