Accountant II

About the role

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) is hiring a full-time Accountant II in Nairobi. The role supports the preparation, processing and maintenance of financial records and transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely financial reporting. The position is open until 10 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare payment vouchers and committal documents for examination
• Verify data recorded in the cashbook and validate bank transactions and entries in bank statements
• Validate receipts and payments
• Update ledgers and support the preparation of financial reports
• Verify balance cashbooks, imprest and advance ledgers
• Carry out bank deposits, dispatch of cheques and cash withdrawals
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting option), Business Management (Accounting/Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
• CPA II / ACCA II or an equivalent accounting qualification from a recognised institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
