Accountant

About the role

A client of Corporate Staffing is hiring an Accountant for a full-time, on-site position in Nairobi. The role supports the day-to-day running of the Accounts department, keeping financial records accurate and payments timely. The advertised salary is KSH 60,000.

Key responsibilities

• Bank reconciliation and cash flow management
• Manage petty cash, budgeting and bank transfers
• Monitor inventory transactions and cost of goods sold entries
• Submit and file statutory returns
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable records
• Support audits and financial reviews with organized, audit-ready records
• Analyze gross margin and net profit fluctuations
• Process general journals and financial transactions in the system
• Process payroll and ensure timely salary payments
• Prepare reports on financial performance, cost analysis and business trends for management
• Advise management on budget variance analysis and cost reduction areas

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• CPA(K) or equivalent professional certification required
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting experience
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations and financial reporting standards
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• High integrity and ethical standards

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• ERP accounting software such as QuickBooks and Navision
• Analytical, organizational and communication skills
