Accountant - Receivables, Inventory and Retail

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is hiring an Accountant for an annual contract based in Nairobi. The role provides financial and administrative support across the receivables, inventory and retail sections, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile and verify company transactions and resolve discrepancies accurately and on time.
• Prepare periodic financial reports on company performance.
• Assist in treasury operations to support cash flow management.
• Support inventory management and reconciliation to keep stock levels accurate.
• Help manage debt collection and credit control in line with credit policies.
• Record incoming payments, reconcile accounts and follow up on outstanding invoices in the accounts receivable section.
• Prepare schedules and reconciliations for internal and external audits.
• Respond promptly to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and statutory regulations.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
• KCSE B+ and above.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Statistics (Second Upper Class).
• CPA/ACCA minimum Level 2.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in report writing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• SAP knowledge and Oil and Gas industry experience are an added advantage.
