Accounts Assistant

About the role

The Accounts Assistant will support the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records for JP Garment Kenya EPZ Ltd’s manufacturing operations. This full‑time position involves processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with statutory reporting within the Export Processing Zone environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements, supplier statements and customer accounts.
• Maintain petty cash, fixed asset registers and inventory cost records.
• Post journal entries and keep the general ledger up to date.
• Assist with payroll preparation and ensure compliance with EPZ regulations.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Generate financial reports and schedules as required by management.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA Part II or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum two years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
