Accounts Receivable & Payable Officer

About the role

The Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Officer will join the finance team to manage daily invoicing, payments and reconciliations. You will ensure accurate financial records, support month‑end close and collaborate with internal teams to keep cash flow smooth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue customer invoices promptly and accurately.
• Record customer payments, reconcile receivable accounts and follow up on overdue balances.
• Assist with credit control and debt collection activities.
• Review, validate and process supplier invoices in line with company policies.
• Schedule and execute vendor payments, reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain organised digital and physical filing systems for financial documents.
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis, reporting and audit assistance as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable or general accounting support.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, SAP, Oracle, DEXT or Hubdoc.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Accurate data‑entry capabilities.
