Actuarial Manager

About the role

Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance Business Unit is seeking an Actuarial Manager to lead high‑quality actuarial consulting for clients in life insurance, general insurance, banking and related sectors. Based in Nairobi, you will build trusted relationships, drive business development, and guide a high‑performing actuarial team through regulatory and market changes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead actuarial valuation and reserve modelling assignments for statutory and management reporting, delivering audit‑ready outputs and clear documentation.
• Validate models, review assumptions, conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis, and present findings to senior client stakeholders.
• Provide advice on capital management, reinsurance structures, and actuarial governance frameworks.
• Ensure technical quality through peer reviews, thorough documentation, and adherence to professional standards.
• Develop and refine actuarial models, methodologies and templates that can be scaled across client engagements.
• Integrate advanced analytics where they add demonstrable value.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering actuarial consulting services to insurance or banking clients.
• Strong track record of building client relationships and leading business development initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a high‑performing actuarial team.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and market trends affecting actuarial practice.
