Anesthesiologist (Full-time, On-site)

About the role

The Anesthesiologist will work full‑time on‑site at St Elizabeth Mission Hospital, providing safe and effective anesthesia care for surgical and diagnostic procedures. This position involves comprehensive patient assessment, anesthesia planning, delivery, and post‑operative management in a resource‑limited, mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients before procedures and develop appropriate anesthesia plans.
• Administer anesthesia and continuously monitor vital signs throughout surgery.
• Manage post‑operative pain and oversee patient recovery from anesthesia.
• Respond promptly to anesthesia‑related emergencies.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other clinicians to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Participate in training and mentorship of clinical staff as needed.

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree with specialist training in Anesthesiology.
• Valid registration/licensure with relevant medical authorities.
• Strong proficiency in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.
• Solid foundation in General Medicine, including pre‑operative assessment, peri‑operative care, and post‑operative monitoring.
• Experience working with surgery teams and critical‑care nursing staff.
• Commitment to patient safety, evidence‑based practice, and ethical decision‑making.
• Ability to work effectively in resource‑limited settings.
• Prior experience in hospital or mission healthcare environments is an advantage.
