Area Sales Manager – Kisumu

About the role

The Area Sales Manager will lead sales activities across the Kisumu region, driving revenue, volume and market share for our FMCG portfolio. You will work closely with distributors, trade representatives and key retail partners to ensure product availability and strong brand presence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute area sales strategies to meet revenue and volume targets.
• Manage distributor relationships, ensuring optimal stock levels and route‑to‑market efficiency.
• Lead, coach and motivate Trade Representatives to achieve consistent performance.
• Monitor sales performance, analyse market data and implement corrective actions.
• Build and maintain relationships with wholesalers, retailers and key customers.
• Plan and execute regional promotions, activations and BTL initiatives.
• Oversee debt collection, credit management and cash‑flow health.
• Drive new product listings and coordinate product training for sales and distributor teams.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in General Trade channels.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship‑management abilities.
• Proven leadership and team‑coaching skills.
• Valid driving licence.
