Assistant Animal Health Technologist III

About the role

The Assistant Animal Health Technologist III supports laboratory testing and field livestock inspections under the guidance of senior officers. This entry‑level position is based in Nairobi and contributes to the registration, compliance and surveillance activities of the Kenya Veterinary Board.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and record application information, attachments and inspection raw data for animal health institutions.
• Assist in the preparation and compilation of pre‑registration examination applications and internship documents.
• Enter complaints into the register and support day‑to‑day enquiries on compliance matters.
• Help prepare documents and materials for inspections of veterinary practices, inputs and products in both private and public sectors.
• Support enforcement of the VSVP Act 2011 and assist in surveillance of veterinary service delivery technologies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Animal Health, Animal Health and Production, Animal Health and Range Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Registration with the Kenya Veterinary Board and good standing.
• Proficiency in computer applications and document management, including e‑filing.
