Veterinary Officer (Entry Level) – Nairobi

About the role

The Kenya Veterinary Board is seeking entry‑level Veterinary Officers to join its team in Nairobi. This full‑time position involves delivering clinical care, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enforcing animal welfare standards under the supervision of senior officers.

Key responsibilities

• Issue registration certificates and practicing licences to veterinary practitioners and paraprofessionals.
• Develop and update standards, guidelines and curricula for veterinary training, telemedicine, and continuing professional development.
• Inspect veterinary clinics, laboratories, training institutions and animal welfare organisations to enforce the VSVP Act and related regulations.
• Process applications for registration, licensing, internships, CPD, and deployment of veterinary technologies.
• Conduct market surveillance, data mining and intelligence gathering to support enforcement actions and legal proceedings.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) and registration with the Kenya Veterinary Board.
• Entry‑level candidate able to work under guidance of a Senior Officer.
• Strong attention to detail for document management and regulatory compliance.

Required skills
