Assistant Mechanical Engineer - Construction

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating across East Africa. On behalf of its client, it is recruiting an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to work in Nairobi, Kenya. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly in public building construction projects, and excellent communication skills and the ability to work with relevant authorities and teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, design and execution of public building construction projects.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop project plans and schedules.
• Communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• Certified and registered engineer with EBK.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction projects, including government public building projects with a total floor area over 7,000 m2 including firefighting works.
• Proficiency in English.

Required skills

• MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• MS Project for scheduling and project management.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for design and drafting.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
