Associate Attorney – Family Law Litigator

About the role

Our well‑established Barrington law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to strengthen its Family Law litigation team. The successful candidate will primarily handle family law matters, representing clients in court and exploring alternative dispute resolution options where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, custody, support, and property matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Participate in negotiations and mediation sessions, leveraging ADR techniques when applicable.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and manage case files.
• Maintain client communication and ensure compliance with court deadlines.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience in family law litigation.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
