Audit Accountant

About the role

The Partnership Agency is looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented Audit Accountant in Nairobi. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, uncovers discrepancies or fraud and recommends improvements, helping maintain the company's financial stability and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Audit financial records, procedures and transactions to verify adherence to company policies and regulations
• Investigate inconsistencies, discrepancies and possible financial misconduct in statements, accounts and transactions
• Assess financial data for precision, completeness and consistency
• Produce detailed reports on audit findings and recommendations for improving financial controls, processes and protocols
• Work with internal teams to implement changes and monitor their effectiveness
• Help design and implement internal audit procedures and stay up to date with accounting regulations and industry benchmarks
• Advise colleagues on financial compliance and best practices, and help prepare financial statements, budgets and other reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Proven experience as an Audit Accountant or similar role
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Strong ethical standards, integrity and confidentiality

Required skills

• Proficiency in financial auditing procedures, principles and GAAP
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel
• Ability to analyse complex financial data and reports
• Verbal and written communication with non-financial stakeholders
• Independent work, prioritisation and organisational skills
• Familiarity with internal control frameworks and risk management
