About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Auditor in Nakuru to plan and carry out audit assignments for a diverse client portfolio. The Auditor ensures financial records are accurate, complete and compliant with accounting standards, tax laws and statutory regulations. The advertised salary is KShs 40,000-60,000.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute statutory and non-statutory audits in line with auditing standards, reviewing accounts, financial statements, supporting documents and internal controls.
• Carry out substantive and analytical procedures, identify errors, fraud risks and control weaknesses, and prepare audit working papers, management letters and final reports.
• Prepare and review financial statements under IFRS and help clients implement accounting policies and improve reporting.
• Prepare and review statutory returns such as VAT, PAYE and Corporate Tax, advise on tax compliance, represent clients before KRA and liaise with regulators.
• Review ledgers, journals, invoices, bank reconciliations and payroll records, evaluate accounting systems and work with ERP systems and QuickBooks.
• Maintain client communication, keep client information confidential and stay up to date on standards and tax law changes.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce (Accounting), Finance or a related field.
• CPA(K) qualification or significant progress toward it; ICPAK membership is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a busy audit or public accounting firm, including statutory audits across several industries.
• Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and handling KRA tax matters.

Required skills

• IFRS certification or taxation certification is an added advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems and QuickBooks.
