Automotive Technician

About the role

The Kitale National Polytechnic is looking for an Automotive Technician to support practical training and workshop operations in its automotive section. The role ensures that trainees develop hands‑on competencies in motor vehicle mechanics in line with CBET curriculum standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist trainers in delivering practical sessions in automotive engineering.
• Perform routine servicing, diagnostics and repair of training vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain an inventory of automotive tools, spare parts and consumables.
• Supervise trainees during practical sessions to ensure safety and skill acquisition.
• Support CBET‑based assessment of trainees’ practical competencies.
• Maintain workshop records, job cards and maintenance schedules.

Required profile

• At least one month of experience in an automotive workshop environment.
• Basic understanding of motor vehicle mechanics.
• Ability to work safely and follow training procedures.
