Baker for US Navy program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Baker to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves preparing a variety of bakery products while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, desserts and other bakery items according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
• Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation and personal hygiene standards.
• Record daily production quantities and food waste for inventory control and reporting.
• Assist with inventory management, proper storage and FIFO rotation of ingredients.
• Provide direction to bakery staff in the absence of the head baker.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of baking experience in a commercial or institutional setting.
• Current ServSafe (or equivalent) certification.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical and security requirements.

Required skills

• Ability to read, understand and follow standardized recipes.
• Accurate measurement and weighing of ingredients.
• Strong English communication for interaction with customers and team members.
