About the role
The Nakuru County Public Service Board is seeking a Building Inspector (Civil) to join its engineering team. The role involves on‑site inspection of construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect buildings and construction sites, checking compliance with approved building plans and construction standards.
- Monitor construction progress, assess the quality of building materials and workmanship, and identify structural defects or safety violations.
- Review building applications, prepare detailed inspection reports, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and check minor repairs and alterations of existing buildings.
Required profile
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Or equivalent qualification such as Building and Civil Engineering diploma, Construction Technician Part III, or similar.
