Business Development and Engagement Manager

About the role

The Business Development and Engagement Manager will lead commercial development, market shaping, and partner management for ruminant anti‑parasiticides across Sub‑Saharan Africa. The role focuses on building sustainable private‑sector engagement, scalable distribution models, affordable farmer access, and long‑term market viability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop market potential models, conduct bottom‑up market sizing and financial modelling, and create a 3–5‑year commercial development strategy for SSA.
• Design phased country entry strategies, map regulatory timelines, and build country‑specific go‑to‑market roadmaps.
• Identify, pre‑qualify, and negotiate with importers and distributors; establish KPIs and governance structures for partner management.
• Design fit‑for‑purpose distribution models for pastoral, agro‑pastoral, commercial ranch, and dairy systems; lead demand‑creation campaigns and farmer education.
• Engage national veterinary authorities, donor‑funded initiatives, and public‑private collaboration opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial development and market entry within livestock or agricultural sectors.
• Strong understanding of SSA livestock markets, regulatory environments, and partner ecosystems.
• Ability to translate pipeline strategy into executable country‑level commercial plans.
