Business Development Executive - General Insurance & Medical

About the role

CIC Insurance Group, a leading insurance and financial services organisation listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, is hiring a Business Development Executive in Westlands, Kenya. Reporting to the Business Development Manager – Agency Incubation, the role drives revenue growth and expands the new and renewal General Insurance (GI) and Medical business portfolio, aiming to meet corporate annual budgets by developing assigned markets and intermediary channels.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate strategic partnerships and relationships with assigned clients and intermediaries
• Navigate the sales cycle efficiently while maintaining a value-driven service approach
• Apply Client Relationship Management practices to meet business objectives
• Track and report performance against agreed sales and retention targets
• Oversee daily sales activities of assigned teams and spearhead revenue growth
• Keep clients informed about new and existing product offerings
• Develop and deliver quotations and tender documents to clients and intermediaries
• Contribute to departmental planning and budgeting as required
• Ensure compliance with credit control policies through cash and carry and debt collection
• Engage intermediaries through visits, performance reviews, support, training and motivation
• Organise and run market activations and outreach events in strategic locations
• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities and threats

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a business or marketing-related field
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in insurance sales
• Certificate of Proficiency (COP) qualification is an added advantage
