Business Development Manager

About the role

Interlink M is hiring a Business Development Manager in Mombasa, reporting to the Head of Credit Relationships within the Business Development department. The role drives business within the bank while meeting customer needs, with customer acquisition, satisfaction, growth and retention central to success.

Key responsibilities

• Introduce new customers to the bank and follow up on funding requests
• Ensure high levels of customer service orientation and application of bank policy
• Inform customers of new products or enhancements and cross-sell existing products
• Track customer complaints and queries, including turnaround times
• Grow revenue by prospecting new business and expanding existing lending relationships
• Provide financial advice and sell appropriate bank products and services
• Analyze risk and credit for customers seeking bank facilities
• Prepare marketing reports on time
• Review credit relationship management policies and processes for compliance with regulations, bank policies and service standards
• Take part in bank committees and help shape policy and strategy
• Implement Environmental and Social Management Systems for existing clients
• Prepare and submit client call memos to the right departments
• Monitor customer transactions, escalate suspicious activity to Risk and Compliance, and keep such information confidential

Required profile

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognized accredited university in Finance, Management or Business Administration, or another similar qualification
• Professional banking qualifications are an added advantage
