Business Development Manager - Performance

About the role

VALD, a global provider of human-measurement technology for the allied health industry, is hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM) for its Performance business. This is a field sales role with defined territory ownership, involving client meetings, product demonstrations and relationship building. Candidates must live within 60 minutes of a major airport in the posted states and be able to travel a 3-4 hour radius; relocation within 30 days of start is possible but not reimbursed.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage a defined sales territory, focusing on high schools
• Build a sales pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound opportunities
• Run in-person and virtual product demonstrations and oversee client trials
• Work full-cycle sales opportunities with Contracts and Client Success
• Achieve monthly and quarterly quota targets based on systems sold
• Manage pipeline activity in the CRM (HubSpot experience is a plus)
• Represent VALD professionally at conferences, events and industry meetings

Required profile

• Sports performance background (ATC, strength and conditioning, exercise science or similar); new graduates welcome, 2+ years of field experience preferred
• Comfort with cold prospecting and confidence engaging students to executives
• Reliable personal vehicle and ability to carry demo equipment up to about 75 lbs
• Willingness to relocate within 30 days of offer if not already in the territory
