Business Development Officer - Corporate Life

About the role

The Business Development Officer will drive profitable growth of Old Mutual's corporate insurance portfolio, focusing on new business acquisition, strategic account development and strong broker partnerships. You will identify corporate opportunities, build a sustainable sales pipeline and deliver an exceptional client experience throughout the sales lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the approved annual budget for Group Life, Group Credit Life, Group Last Expense and Group Critical Illness.
• Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, proactively prospecting and cross‑selling to existing accounts.
• Identify new markets, customer segments and multinational companies that could benefit from regional or international insurance solutions.
• Prepare accurate quotations and proposals, follow up on submissions and analyse lost opportunities to improve conversion.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with corporate clients, brokers, agents and other business partners.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in business development, sales or account management within insurance or financial services.
• Demonstrable experience in corporate insurance products such as Group Life, Group Credit Life or employee benefits.
• Proven track record of new business acquisition, pipeline management and achieving sales targets.
• Experience working with brokers, intermediaries and corporate clients.
