Business Development Officer - Field Sales

About the role

Valley Hospital is hiring field-based Business Development Officers based in Kericho, Narok, Baringo, Laikipia or Nyandarua, reporting to the Nakuru office. You will own your own territory and act as the face of the hospital for doctors, clinics, pharmacies, corporates, insurers and community leaders, turning referrals and partnerships into patients getting care.

Key responsibilities

• Own your territory: map it, plan your routes and become the go-to hospital contact for doctors, clinics, pharmacies, corporates, insurers and community leaders.
• Build lasting referral networks and turn first meetings into long-term partnerships.
• Win new business by landing corporate accounts, wellness programs and partnerships, from first pitch to signed agreement.
• Show up in the community by leading medical camps, health talks, CMEs and outreach events.
• Spot opportunities and competitor moves early and help shape the services offered.
• Keep a sharp pipeline and track your results.

Required profile

• Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Healthcare Management or a related field; a degree is a bonus.
• At least 2 years in sales, marketing or business development, ideally in healthcare.
• Proven record of hitting targets through field prospecting and follow-through.
• Knowledge of referral networks, insurance or corporate health schemes (a big plus).
• Comfortable with MS Office and CRM or sales-tracking tools.
• A self-starter who enjoys frequent travel and working independently.
