Cambridge Year 6 Resident Teacher

About the role

Nova Pioneer is seeking a dynamic Cambridge Year 6 Resident Teacher to deliver English and Humanities to students at its Athi River International campus. The role involves creating a safe, engaging learning environment and implementing the school’s enquiry‑based curriculum for Year 6 learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lessons in English and Humanities in line with the Cambridge curriculum and school schemes of work.
• Develop, review and update lesson plans and schemes of work in collaboration with the line coach and Curriculum Development Manager.
• Design and assess student work, set assessments when required, and maintain accurate progress records.
• Provide a variety of learning resources and facilitate activities that promote physical, mental and social development.
• Prepare classrooms and outdoor spaces for creative play, learning and motor‑skill activities while ensuring safety.
• Observe, evaluate and report each child’s progress to the Principal, school leaders and parents.
• Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably with Cambridge or similar international curricula.
• Strong knowledge of English and Humanities content for Year 6.
• Ability to create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to Nova Pioneer’s enquiry‑based learning philosophy.
