Carbon Finance Manager (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking an experienced climate finance professional to lead financial modelling and fundraising for agroforestry carbon pilots. The role will develop carbon projects that generate impact for smallholder farmers while building expertise in blended finance.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and stress‑test complex 3‑statement financial models for carbon projects and SPV structures, and produce versions for negotiations with carbon buyers and investors.
• Support external fundraising by managing dashboards, identifying new impact investors and carbon credit buyers, and creating pitch decks and investment memos.
• Coordinate with finance, legal, impact, and country program teams to align budgets, fundraising models, and compliance, and assist the senior manager with SPV administration.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in climate finance, project finance, or accounting.
• Experience in the voluntary carbon market or carbon project development and in supporting fundraising rounds with institutional donors.
• 1+ years of experience working in One Acre Fund’s operating countries (Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania).

Required skills

• Advanced financial modelling proficiency (Excel and Google Sheets).
• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/reporting tools.
• Strong analytical skills for sensitivity analysis and risk management.
