Senior Associate, Regional Office Finance

About the role

PSI is seeking a Senior Associate to manage day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations for its regional and country offices in Kenya. The role involves handling accounts payable/receivable, payroll, statutory compliance, and Host Country Agreement financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices, staff receivables, travel reimbursements, and communication allowances, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Prepare and review financial reports, schedules, reconciliations, and payroll computations, investigating discrepancies and coordinating corrections.
• Oversee tax exemption, VAT‑exempt, and duty‑free transactions under Host Country Agreements, liaising with finance, procurement, operations, and government agencies.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, analyzing queries, and recommending process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an NGO or international organization.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and ability to work independently in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Experience with ERP/accounting software.
